1. Open Excel and open the worksheet containing the column you want to split.
2. Select the column that you want to split into multiple columns. You can click on the column header to select the entire column.
3. In the Excel ribbon, go to the "Data" tab and click on the "Text to Columns" button in the "Data Tools" group. This will open the "Convert Text to Columns Wizard."
4. In the first step of the wizard,
If you choose "Delimited":
i) Click the "Next" button.
ii) Select the delimiter that separates the values in your column. Common delimiters include comma, space, tab, semicolon, etc.
iii) You can see a preview of how the column will be split in the "Data preview" section.
iv) Click the "Next" button.
If you choose "Fixed width":
i) Click the "Next" button.
ii) Adjust the column boundaries by clicking and dragging the vertical lines in the preview section. You can add or remove boundaries to define the width of each column.
iii) You can see a preview of how the column will be split in the "Data preview" section.
iv) Click the "Next" button.
5. In the next step of the wizard, you can specify the data format for each new column. You can choose the "General" format or select a specific format such as text, date, or number. You can also specify the destination for the new columns.
6. Click the "Finish" button to split the column into multiple columns based on your settings. The original column will be replaced by the newly created columns.
