The "Freeze Panes" feature allows you to freeze specific rows and/or columns so that they remain visible when scrolling through a large worksheet. To do this:
At first open the Excel worksheet.
Go to menu bar and select View. In the View window,
click Freeze panes Box.
There are 3 types of freeze options there.
1. Freeze Pens:
Here select the cell below the row and to the right of the column where you want to freeze the panes. This means if you want to freeze the top row, select the cell immediately below it. If you want to freeze the first column, select the cell immediately to the right of it. If you want to freeze both the top row and the first column, select the cell below the top row and to the right of the first column.
First select the row and column as stated above.
Then click on the Freeze panes button.
2. Freeze Top Row:
To freeze only the top row of a excel worksheet, just click on "Freeze top row" button.
3. Freeze First Column:
To freeze only the first column of a excel worksheet, just click on "Freeze First Column" button.
