1. Connect the USB flash drive to your computer.
2. Open Command Prompt. You can do this by pressing the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box, typing "cmd," and then pressing Enter.
3. In the Command Prompt window, type "diskpart"
and press Enter. This will launch the DiskPart utility.
4. In DiskPart, type "list disk"
and press Enter. This command will display a list of all the disks connected to your computer.
5. Identify the disk number corresponding to your USB flash drive based on its size. Be careful to select the correct disk, as formatting will erase all data on the selected disk.
6. Once you have identified the disk number of your USB flash drive, type "select disk X"
(replace X with the disk number) and press Enter.
7. Type "clean"
and press Enter. This command will remove all partitions and volumes from the selected disk.
8. Type "create partition primary"
and press Enter. This command will create a new primary partition on the disk.
9. Type "format fs=ntfs quick"
and press Enter. This command will format the partition using the NTFS file system. If you prefer a different file system, you can replace "ntfs" with "fat32" or "exfat."
10. Wait for the format process to complete. The duration will depend on the size of your USB flash drive.
11. Once the format is complete, type "exit
" and press Enter to exit the DiskPart utility.
12. You can now close the Command Prompt window. Your USB flash drive should be successfully formatted.
