1. Create a new folder: Right-click on any empty area of your desktop or inside the desired location where you want to create the hidden folder. From the context menu, select "New" and then choose "Folder." Give the folder any name you prefer.
2. Rename the folder: Right-click on the newly created folder and select "Rename" from the context menu. Remove the existing name and replace it with a period (.) followed by a space or any other random character. For example, you can name it ".hidden" or ".example".
3. Confirm the folder name: When you press Enter to confirm the new name, you'll notice that the folder icon becomes transparent, indicating that it is now a hidden folder.
4. Adjust folder settings: By default, Windows hides certain files and folders, so you need to modify the folder settings to ensure the hidden folder remains concealed. Open the Control Panel by clicking on the "Start" button, selecting "Control Panel," and then choosing "Appearance and Personalization."
5. Folder Options: In the Control Panel window, click on "Folder Options" (or "File Explorer Options" in some versions of Windows). This will open the Folder Options dialog box.
6. View tab: In the Folder Options dialog box, select the "View" tab.
7. Enable hidden files and folders: Under the "Advanced settings" section, locate the "Hidden files and folders" category. Select the option that says "Don't show hidden files, folders, or drives."
8. Apply changes: Click the "Apply" button, followed by the "OK" button to apply the changes and close the Folder Options dialog box.
